Loons

An Ongoing Photo Project

The common loon is a diving bird native to the northern lake regions of the United States and Canada. They live most of their lives on the surface of lakes, diving for fish. They are most well known for their variety of haunting calls: the tremolo, the yodel, the wail, and the hoot. They’re good birds.
